All students have the option to perform individually or within a small group at ISSMA Solo and Ensemble each year. Directors will provide all information and encourage students to work up these pieces for their individual achievement.

WIND ENSEMBLE

The Wind Ensemble performs a wide range of standard band literature. It has a long history of success in ISSMA regional competitions. This band consists of Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors. This band performs at all BN concerts and competes in competitions including ISSMA State Quals.

PERFORMANCES

The concert bands perform in the BHSN Auditorium at the fall, winter and spring concerts. In addition to these community performances, they travel to competitions after the first of the year within the state of Indiana. The top two bands compete at the prestigious ISSMA State Quals with possible advancement to State Finals.

SYMPHONIC BAND

The Symphonic Band plays the most advanced music of all the concert bands. It has been an ISSMA state finalist all but two years since 1985, including numerous top-four finishes. Members of the group are routinely given Gold awards at district and state solo and ensemble contests and selected for all-state bands and orchestras.
